50 Random Questions and Answers about Me

Hi guys and gals, I have previously answered the 50 questions blogger tag way back when I started my lil ol' blog in 2014. I thought it wild be fun to to these again and to give you all more insight into me as a person so we can all get to know each other a little bit better! Sometimes I feel you never really know the person behind the blog so this is one way to get started.

1: What are you wearing?

Considering as I write this it is almost midnight I am in my usual attire of Penney's Pjs. I swear to god if I could live my day to day life in pjs I actually would. These ones are light blue and grey and say "Somewhere over the rainbow, the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true." I have my fluffy socks, and a house coat / dressing gown on. What do you call it? There seems to be quite a divide over whether it should be known as a house coat or not, let me know what you call it!

2: Ever been in love?

I have...

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?

Yes. The worst break ups are when you still love the person for who they are but you know that you cannot go on being in a relationship and are no longer in love with them as cliche as it may sound. Love can be blind at times but when you come through the other side and realise that there is so much more to love and life than you previously thought you will know you made the right decision.

4: How tall are you?

5 foot 6.

5: How much do you weigh?

Too much haha. One of my New Years resolutions is to reduce my BMI and improve my overall fitness. I think fitness plays a huge part in our mental health and overall well being so I will be really focusing on taking care of myself in that aspect this year.

6: Any tattoos?

No. I have plenty of ideas, but I have a few goals I would like to achieve first and then consider marking them in an offbeat way with a tattoo.

7: Any piercings?

I have my ears pierced, lobes and cartilage. I also had my belly button pierced twice but my body kept rejecting it so I had to let it close over.

8: OTP?

One true pairing I heard this meant... The first couple that popped into my mind were Noah and Allie from the Notebook. Jesus Christ the last scene really gets me in the feels...

*PEAKY BLINDERS SPOILER ALERT*

But my new favourite couple have to be Tommy and Grace in Peaky Blinders, it's a series on Netflix set in Birmingham in the 1920s. They aren't really a couple but I just love them and want them to be together. Ok, sorry if I just ruined the show.

9: Favorite Show?

Peaky Blinders - it takes me a while to really get into a series. Narcos was brilliant on Netflix as well... Law and order SVU is an all time fave and a throwback to when I wanted to be a guard (policewoman for any non Irish) and Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares is always a good watch and kind of disgusting too!

10: Favorite bands?

Florence and the Machine are technically a band so I will choose them. She is just incredible and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get a ticket to go see her when she played in Dublin. I'm really into Drake, Fetty Wap and the Weeknd moreso than bands though?

11: Something you miss?

I miss my dog Buddy. We had to give him up for adoption when we moved house and I really regret that still. He was like a baby in our family.

12: Favorite song?

That's a hard one... I love the song Keep your head up by Ben Howard, he's a fantastic singer songwriter.

13: How old are you?

I'm 22!! * Cue Taylor Swift...* I keep thinking its 5 years until I'm 25... But Nope, I'll be 27! This is scary, I feel like I've so much to accomplish. But then again when I was 20 I thought 30 was old, and now I realise it most definitely isn't.

14: Zodiac sign?

I am a Sagittaurius, so I am quite a fiery person. I love to be centre of the attention but at the same time I am very observant, thoughtful and I'm also ambitious.

15: Quality you look for in a partner?

Ambition, drive to succeed - they have to be someone who is making something happen. Intelligence, kindness, generosity and a good sense of humour is important. I don't like people who take themselves too seriously either.

16: Favorite Quote?

Strive for progress not perfection.

17: Favorite actor?

Saoirse Ronan at the moment. Go on the Irish!

18: Favorite color?

"My wardrobe is jet black." Black. You'll understand if you ever work in retail/beauty. It's just so handy and easy to put on and still look put together and elegant. It can make you sleek or edgy depending on how you accessorise. It is so versatile. Literally every girl needs a pair of well fitting black skinny jeans, a nice cami top, a leather jacket, a little black dress and a good pair of boots in her life and she is set for every occasion.

19: Loud music or soft?

Loud music gets me pumped up for the gym or to go out. I mostly listen to loud music but if I want to chill / relax or am feeling in a certain mood I switch on my 8tracks and away we go with the chill vibes.

20: Where do you go when you’re sad?

Shopping! Retail therapy is often a cure for me... Or try and spend some time with my mam or dad.

21: How long does it take you to shower?

15 minutes. I don't know how people take so long in the shower.

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

I get up an hour before I have to leave for college and that includes eating breakfast so I would say 40 minutes.

23: Ever been in a physical fight?

Haha, I got slapped across the face once in third year in school. It was quite hilarious thinking back on it. It was such a stupid fight.

24: Turn on?

Good manners and smelling nice... Someone who puts you at ease and is totally open and upfront.

T25: Turn off?

Bad hygiene! Ugh...need I say more? Rude people. Lack of intelligence.

26: The reason I joined Blogspot?

I always have had a passion for writing and I wanted a creative outlet while I was studying journalism in college. It quickly developed into my most favourite hobby (next to shopping).

27: Fears?

Being alone! I don't want to grow old alone but that's way off in the future. Something bad happening to someone I love is also high on my list of fears. I also have a phobia of needles and any sort of bodily medical issue  - the thought of it makes me short of breath and faint. I could never be a nurse!

28: Last thing that made you cry?

Oh god it was probably something stupid. I get very sensitive when it's that time of the month.

29: Last time you said you loved someone?

Probably the other night to my mam, don't think I heard it back. Tear... Haha.

30: Meaning behind your blogger URL?

It's my blog name.

31: Last book you read?

It's been so long since I've finished a book I can't remember. I read a book called confessions of a Tinderella that was hilarious and I would really recommend it! Oh..the last book I have probably read was called Asking for It by Irish author Louise O'Neill. It is quite a heavy going book that will leave you with a heavy heart but very topical and something that needs to be discussed.

32: The book you’re currently reading?

I'm reading About Face by Aisling Mc Dermott at the moment, and fairy tales by Joanne Larby. Nothing too taxing on the mind, but they are both beauty and blog related books.

33: Last show you watched?

Operation Transformation - the whole family are really getting into it this year.

34: Last person you talked to?

My mum to say goodnight.

35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

My friend Autumn, we've been in college together the last three years.

36: Favorite food?

O'Donnells sea salt and malt vinegar crisps. They are divine.

37: Place you want to visit?

I'm travelling to Switzerland in March for the first time to spend some time with some old friends and I can't wait!

38: Last place you were?

I was in city centre in Dublin today having a browse around the TopShop near Stephens Green. It is seriously the best one in Dublin anyways. The last place I was abroad was Malta the summer just gone and I would really consider going again, I loved it.

39: Do you have a crush?

Possibly.

40: Last time you kissed someone?

Before Christmas.

41: Last time you were insulted?

I'm easily insulted.

42: Favourite flavour of sweet?

Apple lollies or black currant wine gums.

43: What instruments do you play??

None, I wasn't very musical. I can sing though, or attempt to.

44: favourite piece of jewellery?

I'm loving the gold hoop trend atm. I know people automatically think Chav when they hear hoops but I like them.

45: Last sport you played?

Hockey, I rejoined a club team briefly in the last six months.

46: Last song you sang?

The girl is mine - 99 souls brandy remix...

47: favourite chat up line?

None, they are all too cringy.

48:Have you ever used it?

See above.

49: Last time you hung out with anyone?

In college yesterday I suppose.

50: Who should answer these questions next?

10 "Nice Tops" to Wear with Jeans on a Night Out

Ask an Irish woman what she is wearing on 90% of her nights out (unless its a special occasion) and you will probably hear the words, "jeans and a nice top." The sad fact is, it is almost entirely impossible to find said nice top for a night out.

Automatically crop tops and bodysuits are discounted for most of us because A) lets be honest unless I am wearing a high waist skirt there is no way in hell I am going to try pull off a crop top and B) because I fucking hate bodysuits. They ride up in places that no clothing should go and are a nightmare to try close again after the inevitable dash to the loo. So that limits our nice tops to drought level since every bloody nice top on the market seems to be either a bodysuit or a crop top at the moment!

I decided to take matters into my own hands and search through a couple of sites to find that elusive nice top... Let me know what you think.

Review: Bellamianta Self Tanning Gradual Moisturiser

Ireland is apparently the self tan capital of the world. It comes as no surprise that brands are continually popping up with their offerings to us pale skinned gals; however Bellamianta was an Irish owned tanning brand that I had yet to try. Partly because of its accessibility - I have yet to find a definitive stockist list - and also because we had been bombarded with another Irish owned hot pink bottled product for sometime.

After being invited to Bellamianta's Summer party in Number Twenty Two for the launch of three of their new products to include their self tanning gradual moisturiser I couldn't wait to try it!

I had spoken to the gorgeous Linda one half of Bellamianta's power duo and she had told me that it was the gradual moisturiser she had on. Now, she was wearing a stunning white jumpsuit and on naturally pale Irish skin you would be forgiven for thinking layers and layers of your darkest tan would be required to wear white - but no, all she had on was the gra…

What do I need in a Makeup Artist Starter Kit?

What is in a MUA's starter kit? Brace yourself for an extremely long blog post!  I love reading posts on what makeup artists have in their kit and since I am an MUA in the making, I know exactly what is necessary in a starter kit.
Keep in mind this is a kit that you will be using to do others makeup, not necessarily just items that suit you will be in it. This will be a run down on what is required in a basic kit, and you can build on that with more recognised brands when you get more established. I will cover the absolute must haves: Skincare & Hygiene Storage: What are you going to put your makeup in Brushes Disposables & Tools Then the fun part: Makeup! Skincare & Hygiene Most people you will work on will have no makeup on but if they come to you with a full face you do not want to be going any where near them with wet wipes! Wipes dry out the skin, and as some people have highly sensitive skin it can also cause an allergic reaction. You will need the following in your kit: C…
